About Me

Hello,

My name is Sarah Short and I started the idea of  this creative concept many years ago. I've been baking since I was a teenager and by my early 20's I soon discovered that I had a passion for it. It wasn't until I was in my 30's  that I decided to take a basic cake decorating class at Micheal's Craft Store. It was a simple 3 week class in which we only met one night a week. After that, I had a new found passion and I was eager to learn everything that I could learn about decorating cakes.  I began to buy books, subscribe to magazines and practice every chance I got;  The name ShortCakes, Etc. was derived from my last name "Short" and my love for baking "Cakes."  After many years of being self disciplined, dedicated and determined to teach myself as many skills as possible, I have grown into a respected cake baker/decorator in my area.  I am very proud to serve my community with my cakes and cake products and I hope to be able to continue to represent all of you for many years to come.
